With over fourteen years experience in various areas of the Environmental field Mr. McLauchlin has worked as a Conservation Officer, an Environmental Scientist, as a public consultation coordinator, as a resource/conservation management specialist, a Public Safety Professional and in Environmental Protection and Enforcement. Having worked at the Federal, Provincial and community level he has experience in addressing a number of issues related to Environmental Consultation and Management of Large Scale Industrial Projects. He has worked closely with both industry and individual First Nations communities in addressing concerns regarding a large variety of resource developments. Mr. McLauchlin managed and assisted in the 3rd party review of the Suncor Firebag In Situ Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) Environmental Impact Assessment and the Opti Canada Environmental Impact Assessment in the Athabasca Oilsands region of North-eastern Alberta. In working directly with the community environmental associations in the Fort McMurray region for the past seven years Mr. McLauchlin has had direct experience in understanding and addressing the environmental issues related to large and small scale mining projects. With experience well balanced between communities, industry and government Mr. McLauchlin is able to approach Environmental Management and community participation processes for Large Scale projects from a realistic and proactive point of view. |
